Meet our new Breeder Club Ambassador, Claire Johnson

Crufts 2026 was a very exciting time for me. Firstly, the Kooikerhondje Club of Great Britain, of which I have the privilege of being the club President, won Breed Club of the Year at the prestigious Pawscars awards.

An insane achievement for such a small club of a rarer breed up against the 'big boys'. This was followed just a couple of days later by my Inka, Sensation vom Tespelkooi of Valleyrise VW being awarded the CC (just the 7th ever awarded in Kooikers) and Best of Breed at Crufts for the second time, proud just doesn't cover it! Crufts was then ended by being given the honour of being asked to be a Breeder Ambassador for Fish4Dogs.

I have been using Fish4Dogs products for nearly 20 years now. I know the impact feeding fish has on my dogs; I see it daily. Their coats gleam with no added products. If I had a pound for every time someone complimented me on my dog's teeth, I'd be a very well-off lady! They also maintain great muscle condition without being hyper. All my puppies, and those I have mentored to breed, have raised their puppies on Fish4Dogs. The range of natural treats is refreshing. Inka's absolute favourite is the banana fish wraps, which genuinely bring her so much joy! Pepper and Toffee really enjoy the Training Salmon Bites, and I love how the sea jerky helps to clean their teeth. Fish4Dogs products are clearly working for me, as Inka's daughter, Pepper, became the first-ever UK Kooikerhondje Champion, and just two months after Crufts this year, at the grand age of 10 years and 11 months, Inka won her crowning CC, becoming the second bitch champion in the breed.

I think it is clear that I think a lot of Fish4Dogs, so to be recognised by them in return as someone they believe can stand out as a Breeder Ambassador really does mean so very much. For me personally, and my values when it comes to breeding and nutrition, as the owner of Valleyrise Kooikerhondje, for recognising the incredible achievements we have had in the ring, and for the versatile little breed that I so love to be singled out and highlighted.
